Ingredients:
- Toor dal 1/2 cup
- Onion 1 medium chopped
- Tomato 1 big
- Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tsp
- Carrot 1 small
- Chilli 1
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water 2 cups
Seasoning:
- Mustard seeds 1/2tsp
- Urad dal 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves
- Garlic cloves 4
- Hing a pinch
- Red chillis 2
Method:
- Take a pressure cooker add oil and add the seasoning ingredients and saute till mustard starts to splutter.
- Now add onions ,chilli and saute well till onion is cooked well.
- Now add the ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes and then add tomato and saute well till it turns mushy.
- Now add the toor dal, turmeric, salt and carrots and mix well.
- Add 2 cups of water.
- Cook for 3 whistles till toor dal is well cooked and is mushy.
- Turn off the stove and once pressure is released add corriander.
- Now ready to serve.
- Tastes good with plain ghee rice and chapathi or poori.
